Blood Moon 2022

Lunar eclipses are relatively common events. The last one was just last year: Lunar Eclipse. That doesn’t make them any less interesting to view, with the refracted light from Earth’s atmosphere painting the lunar surface a foreboding red.

Like last time I brought out the big old Sony NEX-F3 camera. This time I also hady brand new Google Pixel 7 Pro camera with it’s famed night photography capabilities. Unfortunately, what I didn’t have was a mount for either.

I’ll have more to say about the Pixel another time, but suffice it to say that, as expected, its 5x zoom and night vision is still not up to the big aperture of the dedicated mirrorless camera.
