Berri good

Few Clouds, 9°C

It’s June and many things have opened up. We went for a drive today, down to Berrima, along the Kangaroo Valley way to Berry and back to Sydney. The main roads were packed and the towns full of others getting their first taste of freedom in months.

I was uncomfortable with the crowds, but B insisted on us going. It was nice to be out in the fresh air with a change of scenery, though I am exhausted from driving along the narrow winding roads up and down the escarpment.

We ate meat pies from Berrima, but had to go without the doughnuts of Berry due to the crowds and lack of social distancing. There were lots of beautiful homewards and toys in both locations, but sadly little appropriate for us. I feel especially wistful about pretty things right now.

I had a covid-19 test on Thursday, a drive through. It was much less unpleasant than I expected and it predictably came back negative, but I have been feeling a bit ill and thought I’d better do my bit.
